Southern California is known as the Mecca of largemouth bass fishing. With 11 fish in the top 25 biggest ever caught, we knew our home turf was a great testing ground. So we went to work. Finding small local ponds was the goal, and throwing the BAITSHIFTER prototype was the game plan. Quickly we found success with the small sized BAITSHIFTER in the bone colorway. Slowly walking our lure over submerged structure yielded ample fish. With pauses over structure, we found bass would come out of the woodwork to aggressively attack our lure. In fall, when water temperatures drop, shad get pushed high in the water column. Largemouth bass tend to key on topwater lures impersonating the elevated shad schools, which made for ideal product testing conditions for the BAITSHIFTER prototype. Night fishing operations were planned, so we set out to our local watering holes to find some double-digit bass. Though, no double-digits were landed, multiple fish went 7-8 lbs+. One particular night, every cast yielded a blow-up, with over 25 fish caught per person on the BAITSHIFTER. With the quick success of our prototype, we immediately knew we had something special. Thanks to our world class largemouth bass fishery, we dove in deep to finalize a product for all to enjoy.
